"Let Your Heart Take Courage”
Christian Life Program at Our Lady Mother of God Church

Over the course of seven inspiring Sundays from June 15 to July 27, 2025. CFC North Bangkok Unit 1  members opened their hearts to welcome participants to a life changing journey through the Christian Life Program (CLP). With the theme “Let Your Heart Take Courage,” taken from Psalm 31:24, the program inspired everyone to grow deeper in faith and become stronger in spirit.
Each Sunday offered a new opportunity for participants to encounter God in a more personal way. The sessions featured engaging teachings on the core foundations of Christian life: God’s love, Jesus as Savior, the power of the Holy Spirit, and how to live a life fully surrendered to Christ.
The participants included 2 couples, 1 Handmaid of the Lord (HOLD), 2 Servants of the Lord (SOLD), and 9 Singles for Christ (SFC) 5 females and 4 males. They were transformed and renewed by the power of God’s word and strengthened through the warmth of the Christian community they encountered."
Each Sunday was filled with heartfelt worship and moving personal testimonies. Stories of healing, forgiveness, and faithfulness reminded everyone that God continues to work powerfully in our lives today.
The CFC North Bangkok Unit 1, together with the dedicated service team, played a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. Volunteers served joyfully, ensuring every participant felt seen, heard, and cared for. The Sunday gatherings quickly became a spiritual highlight for many. It was a sacred time to reconnect with God and others.
As the CLP joyfully concluded on July 27, the 16 participants didn’t say goodbye, but rather, “See you soon.” Many expressed a strong desire to continue growing in their faith and walk more boldly with Christ. The seed of courage had been planted and it continues to grow.
The message of the program remains clear and powerful:
In a world full of uncertainty, we can take heart, not because we are strong, but because of our GOD.
To God be the glory!

CFC Thailand Theme Weekend Retreat 2025: Rejoicing, Remembering, Rejuvenating, and Recommissioning

“Return to Galilee” — Saturday, 15 March 2025, in Asian Institute of Technology Conference Center, Pathum Thani, this tranquil sanctuary blossomed as Couples for Christ members gathered for the annual Theme Weekend Retreat—a gathering designed to uplift the spirit and renew purpose. This special weekend is all about unveiling the year’s theme and pastoral focus, as well as reigniting the flame of faith and commitment within our community. This special gathering drew about 150 members. Most came from the greater Bangkok area, but were also blessed by attendees from upcountry mission areas—and even CFC members joining from Myanmar and Laos. It was truly a community-wide celebration of faith, unity, and purpose.
The program kicked off with our tour guide, Bro. Ado Resultay, proudly leading the parade of mission geographies, where each chapter and mission area represented at the retreat was showcased. Bro. Patrick Lozare, a member of the CFC Thailand Country Governance Team, delivered the prologue for the retreat by highlighting the importance of Galilee in our faith story. He spoke about the Annunciation in Nazareth, where the angel Gabriel announced Jesus’ coming—marking the moment God took human form. Then he reminded us of how, along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, Jesus called His earliest followers—like Peter, Andrew, James, and John—to join His mission of salvation.
In the first session titled “Rejoicing Beyond the Empty Tomb,” attendees experienced a powerful taste of Resurrection joy. Sis. Mary Jean Edilo and Sis. Charyn Sigua performed a solemn song that set the tone, while Bro. Ruby Dimayacyac—Country Head and Evangelization & Mission Pillar Lead of CFC Singapore—explained the message. He emphasized how the empty tomb transformed the two Marys' fear into pure joy—then posed a powerful question: when we confront our own “empty tombs” of sorrow, could our hearts likewise overflow with eternal rejoicing rooted in the Resurrection? His wife, Sis. Dina Dimayacyac, enriched the session with a beautiful personal sharing that echoed this message of renewed hope and joy.
In the second session, “Remembering Our Love Story with Christ,” Neil Christian Abalos' soulful performance set the stage as Bro. Arnel Sacris, CFC FAMIN Head, recounted Jesus’ transformative call of the first disciples—from fishermen by the Sea of Galilee to fishers of men—that marked the start of their divine journey. He reminded us that, like those early followers, our love for Christ can grow cold and our hearts weary. Yet, taking inspiration from Mary’s habit of cherishing and pondering her encounters with Jesus, he urged us to revisit and reflect on our first moments with Him. His wife, Sis. Neneng Sacris, shared a touching testimony before inviting everyone to reflect, journal, and rekindle their personal connection with Christ.
In the third session, “Rejuvenation: Nurturing Intimacy with Christ,” Sis. Mary Jane Trabajo and her son Seth presented a heartfelt scene of a lonely believer encountering Jesus at a bar, illustrating His enduring presence in our lives. Bro. Mike Santos, Country Coordinator of CFC Sarawak, East Malaysia, emphasized our limitations without God's provision, protection, and love. His wife, Sis. Rea Santos, affirmed this by sharing a testimony of God's enduring grace, prevailing love, and the power of forgiveness, even in the face of adversity.
The weekend retreat wouldn’t be complete without centering on our Savior—so we paused for a solemn Eucharistic Adoration, inviting hearts into silent reverence before the Blessed Sacrament, believed to be Christ truly present under the appearance of bread and wine. This sacred moment led into the Holy Mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Adrian Ahit, OMI, where the faithful gathered to receive the Eucharist—the heart of Catholic worship—and partake in the living encounter with Christ through Word and the Eucharist.
The last session, titled “Recommissioning: From Galilee to the Nations,” was led by CFC Thailand Country Coordinator Bro. Junee Nebrada. Over breakfast by the Sea of Galilee, he invited everyone to re-encounter the Lord in a symbolic gesture of unity and intimacy. His wife, Sis. Psyche Nebrada, beautifully testified to how God called each member of their family to take part in this mission. The session concluded with an invitation for attendees to renew their commitment to Christ and embrace their calling to share the Good News with all nations.
The retreat ended on a joyful note with a praisefest, where everyone lifted their voices in heartfelt songs of thanksgiving to honor the Lord. This was followed by a warm time of fellowship, as attendees gathered in community to celebrate God’s mercy and goodness together—closing the weekend with gratitude and unity.

Recalling the previous pastoral visits in 2023 and 2024

On 18 June 2023, Jojoy and Emelyn made their first pastoral visit to Laos (Vientiane) via Wattay International Airport. They attended the morning English Holy Mass in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, and then had their first physical acquaintances with the available leaders on site. The visit was also timely for the final session of their CLP held inside the church campus where Jojoy gave the final “Talk-8_Transformation in Christ” and prayed over the CLP Graduates during the dedication ceremony. He exhorted the leaders and members of the vision for a future Established CFC Laos.
On 16 December 2023, Jojoy and Emelyn Mission made their second pastoral visit with their youngest son Ellis. Jojoy gave the teachings on “Evangelization Training” and “Financial Stewardship” to the available leaders and members in the afternoon, then joined their community Christmas Party and Family Day in the evening. The next day (Sunday), they joined the morning English Holy Mass in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, and met Bishop Ling and Father William together with the leaders right after the mass. Then, they had lunch with the Core team leaders in the hotel and did the planning for AOP and AOB 2024.
On 11-12 May 2024, Jojoy with John Balgoa (Mission Support Head of CFC Thailand) made their pastoral visit to support the organized Marriage Enrichment Retreat (MER-1) held in Wangview Resort Vientiane. There were six couples attended the retreat namely Dickya/Sheena, Gboy/Rea, Jumar/Rio, Yves/April, Prince/Sharon, and Bout/Aleona. Jojoy gave the Talks 2 and 6 while John gave the Talks 5 and 7. The other three talks were given respectively by Dickya for Talk 1, Gboy for Talk 3, and Rea for Talk 4. The retreat culminated with the special couple prayer and blessings from Fr. William in the Sacred Heart Cathedral after the morning Holy Mass.

Renewed in Christ -
16 Complete Life-Changing CLP

A spirit-filled journey of faith and transformation culminated on 9 March 2025, as 16 participants officially completed the Christian Life Program (CLP) under the theme “REnewED in CHRIST.” The five-week program, which began on 9 February was led by the CFC North Bangkok Chapter (Unit 2) and concluded with a heartfelt Dedication Ceremony at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Pathum Thani. The CLP graduates consisted of the following:
  • 2 couples (CFC)
  • 1 Handmaid of the Lord (HOLD)
  • 1 Servant of the Lord (SOLD)
  • 8 Singles for Christ (SFC)
Throughout the program, participants deepened their understanding of God’s love, the power of the Holy Spirit, and their personal calling as disciples of Christ. The service team from CFC North Bangkok guided them through engaging talks, personal sharing, and prayer sessions, helping them embrace a renewed faith and commitment to serving the Lord.
The Dedication Ceremony was a moving celebration of each participant’s decision to continue their faith journey as active members of the CFC community. It was an afternoon of thanksgiving, worship, and fellowship, marking the beginning of their mission to live out their renewed faith.
As these newly committed members step forward in their faith journey, they carry with them the hope and mission of bringing Christ’s love into their families and communities. The CFC North Bangkok Chapter looks forward to witnessing how these 16 graduates will inspire and serve as instruments of renewal in the years to come. To God be the glory!

ANCOP Walk 2024

The CFC ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor) Walk is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a movement that unites CFC members and non-members alike to support the marginalized and uplift the lives of those in need. In 2024, this inspiring event took place twice, motivating families and individuals to take action for a brighter future.
The first ANCOP Walk of 2024 took place on 1 June at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The event was met with an incredible outpouring of support, raising Baht 18,250 through registration fees and donations. Participants walked together with a common purpose: to offer hope and assistance to those who need it most. Under the warm, bright sun, it was evident that this walk was more than just a physical activity—it was a powerful demonstration of the community's united commitment to answering the cry of the poor.
A few months later, on 20 November 2024, the second ANCOP Walk took place in the serene and beautiful Lumpini Park in Bangkok. The spirit of generosity was even stronger this time, with a total of Baht 19,350 raised from registrations and donations. The walk brought together families, friends, and ANCOP supporters, all united in their mission to make a meaningful impact.
Looking ahead, CFC ANCOP Thailand remains committed to deepening the involvement of its members in responding to the cry of the poor, one step at a time. In 2025, two ANCOP Walks are scheduled: 10 May and 9 November. Additionally, CFC ANCOP Thailand will expand its outreach by sponsoring regular visits to an orphanage as part of our ongoing commitment to serve the poor. The momentum continues to grow, demonstrating that when people come together for a cause greater than themselves, change is possible.

Harvest of Unity: A Victorious Christian Life Program at Our Lady Mother of God Church, Rangsit

“They sowed fields and planted vineyards, brought in an abundant harvest. God blessed them, and they increased greatly, and their livestock did not decrease” (Psalm 107:37-38 NABRE).

All praises and thanks be to our God for a victorious and successful Christian Life Program held at Our Lady Mother of God Church, Rangsit (Function Hall). This was made possible through the grace of God with the unity and cooperation of all the members of the service team. This Year’s CLP at Rangsit Parish was led by CFC-NB Unit 1, with Bro. Francis Derla (with Sis.  Espie) as team leader and Bro. Dondon Durog (with Sis. Beth) as assistant team leader. The program was conducted in the afternoon, for seven consecutive Sundays, right after the English mass, from 26 May until 7 July 2024.

Despite the many challenges, God has been faithful for what He started he will surely bring to completion (Philippians 1:6). He has added to the community sixteen (16) new members: 4 CFCs, 5 SFCs (male), 4 SFCs (female) including a participant from last year’s CLP at AIT and 3 HOLDs. God has provided support from the parish of Our Lady Mother of God through its Parish Priest Fr. Anucha, Asst. Parish Priest Fr. Joseph, Fr. Prayuth and Khun Pairoj and Priests from the Xaverian Missionaries, Fr. Agustin, Fr. Erasto and Fr. Edgar.

The labor of love and sacrifices of everyone has inspired the participants to experience and feel the merciful and warm embrace of God during the entire stretch of the program.

Heroes of hope in action

The 16th Global Day of Service (GDS) on 18 October 2025, at the Good News Center, Our Lady of Mercy, Nonthaburi, was a truly inspiring celebration of faith, love, and service. Around 25 CFC families from Central Bangkok, North Bangkok, and Nonthaburi chapters came together to bring joy and hope to 40 children beneficiaries, embodying the mission of being Heroes of Hope — spreading kindness, faith, and love wherever they go.
The day was filled with joy, energy, and faith. Families and children enthusiastically sang and danced “I Am Brave” and participated in the lively praise activities, setting a joyful tone for the celebration. Fun continued with the “Hope! Hope! Hooray!” icebreaker and the Guess a Hero activity, encouraging children to discover the hero within themselves. An inspiring pep talk reminded everyone that being a Hero of Hope means showing love, kindness, and faith in action every day.
The celebration was further enriched by the presence of Fr. Joseph Briones of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Nonthaburi, and St. Martin Foundation, whose blessing uplifted everyone’s hearts.
The highlight of the day was the Heroes of Hope Activity, where families and volunteers shared preloved clothes, books, and toys, played games, and spent meaningful moments of fellowship with the children. Their smiles and laughter reflected the true spirit of community and service.
We were also honored by the presence of Tito Jason and Tita Jennifer Briones, our KFC Couple Coordinators for Southeast Asia, whose guidance and encouragement inspired all participants to continue serving with love and humility. The program concluded with Tito Jason Briones delivering a heartfelt closing message of gratitude.
With the generous support of ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor), the event reached even more children and families in need, making a meaningful difference in the community.
This day was a testament to the power of faith, family, and community — a joyful reminder of what it means to be Heroes of Hope, spreading God’s light, love, and joy to every corner of our communities.

Courtesy call with Surat Thani Bishop Paul Trairong Multree

Picture
On 27 September 2025, Couples for Christ (CFC) Thailand leaders, led by Jojoy and Emelyn Mission, met with Bishop Paul Trairong Multree, the newly appointed Bishop of Surat Thani, to present CFC’s mission and activities in Thailand. Bishop Paul warmly welcomed the CFC delegation at his residence in Surat Thani. The delegation included Father John Tamayo, Spiritual Adviser of CFC Thailand; Ambassador Precha and Sirikul; Edgar and Moonyeen Dante; Oliver and Jasmine Ople; Supachart and Moi Samuhatanakul; and Prasert and Panida.
Bishop Paul expressed his appreciation for the work of CFC and encouraged the community to continue its evangelization efforts in southern Thailand, in coordination with other Church activities.
Following the meeting, Jojoy and his team gathered with 25 Thai members from Phanom and Surat Thani at the St. Raphael Cathedral to appoint new leaders and discuss key activities for 2026. Father Tamayo was also present and expressed his full support for the planned Christian Life Program (CLP) in Thai to be conducted in March next year.

Pastoral visit to the
CFC Thai community in Ubon

On 31 May 2025, Emmanuel (Jojoy) Mission, CFC Thailand Country Head and, Vorachat Thongpiyapoom, CFC Central Bangkok Leader, made the second pastoral visit of the year to the Leaders of CFC-Ubon. They rented a car in the airport and drove to St. Joseph church under heavy rain. They arrived in the church compound before 10:00 AM and were welcomed in the rectory by Father Peter Paitoon Saensawat, CFC-Ubon Spiritual Adviser. At about 10:00 AM, thirty (30) CFC-Ubon leaders and members came despite the difficulty of heavy rain.
After late breakfast prepared by the church, the Prayer meeting started at 10:30 AM using the “Monthly Family Group Prayer Meeting Guide” and finished at 12:30 PM. The members appreciated much the guide book except that they requested a shorter talk of about 10-15 minutes only so that they would have more time for personal sharing. But, overall, they claimed that the guide book is a helpful tool in their prayer meetings. In the afternoon, the Service meeting was held to discuss the three main subjects namely (1) Pastoral structure and membership, (2) Support to CFC-Pakse in Laos, and (3) CLP in Mukdahan.
The Pastoral structure with key leaders were introduced to the members who were present in the meeting and they all affirmed their full support to their leaders. The list of members was discussed in detail to clearly arrange by region namely (1) Yasothon, Nong Koo Noi, Noan Ma Lee, Songyae region, (2) Amnaj Charoen, Nong Koo-Noan Nam Taeng, Cha Nu Maan, Nongkho region, (3) Srisaket, See Than, Nongtham region, (4) Bua Tha, Boong Mai, Thap Thai, Ubon region. There are confirmed 116 active members.
About support to CFC-Pakse, CFC-Ubon reconfirmed their willingness to support their CLP. Five able speakers were identified to give CLP talks namely Bro. Banleang, Bro. Pratuang, Bro. Sutha, Bro. Chatree, and Sis. Wanadee. They can go to Pakse either by bus or van, private car is not advisable, using border pass. Other option is for Pakse leaders to visit Ubon using border pass and join the household prayer meeting as well as leaders training. (Four leaders of CFC-Pakse already have border pass valid until June 2026).
About CLP in Mukdahan, CFC-Ubon is also willing to support but, Fr. Paitoon suggested to consult Archbishop Weradet since Mukdahan belongs to the Tharae-Nongsaeng Archdiocese and CFC-Tharae could directly support. (Archbishop Weradet already gave blessing to Jojoy to accordingly contact Fr. Suriya, the parish priest of the Shrine of the Seven Martyrs in Songkhon - Our Lady of the Martyrs of Thailand Shrine).
The next quarterly pastoral visit was mutually agreed in either August or September.

First ANCOP Global Walk 2025 and A Joint Prayer Assembly

On Saturday, 10 May 2025, CFC Thailand held its first ANCOP Global Walk 2025 at AIT in Pathumthani. The event brought together members from the North Bangkok and Central Bangkok Chapters, with 26 families and 7 individuals signing up to walk for a cause.
The morning began with a prayer, followed by some energizing stretches led by Bro Patrick Lozare. The walk started from Korea House and took participants on a scenic 45-minute route around the campus. After the walk, everyone enjoyed a warm and hearty breakfast together.
The event was a success—not just in turnout but in heart. A total of Baht 30,250 was raised through registrations and donations. But more than the amount, it was the unity and purpose that stood out. Under the bright sun, every step taken reflected a shared mission: to bring hope and help to those in need through ANCOP.
After the walk, members from both chapters gathered for a joint Prayer Assembly with the theme “Building Bridges.” Rooted in Galatians 6:2 – “Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ” – the assembly centered on the Catholic principle of solidarity. This powerful teaching reminds us that we are all part of one human family, called to care for each other—especially the poor, the vulnerable, and those in need. It was a time to reflect on how unity, compassion, and shared responsibility can help build stronger communities and bring Christ’s love to life in practical ways.
The gathering began with the Holy Rosary and was followed by spirited praise and worship. Bro Patrick shared a short message on the topic, helping everyone understand how building bridges through solidarity brings us closer to living out Christ’s love. A heartfelt recorded video testimony by Bro Soc and Sis Weng Valente, leaders from Central Bangkok, showed how ANCOP is making a difference.
Members then broke into small groups to reflect and share. Each group chose a representative to offer a highlight of their discussion with everyone. As always, birthday and anniversary celebrants were warmly recognized and prayed over. The assembly ended on a joyful note—with announcements, a closing prayer, and a delicious shared lunch.

FIG Debut and FAMIN Reboot by CFC Thailand

On Sunday, 16 March 2025, at Korea House inside AIT in Pathum Thani, leaders and members from Couples for Christ in Thailand and Myanmar came together for a special gathering. Their focus was twofold: to dive deep into the Family is a Gift (FIG) initiative, and to explore the latest developments in CFC’s Family Ministries (FAMIN)—a movement dedicated to nurturing families at every stage of lifeBro. Mike Santos delivered an inspiring pastoral teaching titled “Put into the Deep – A Call for New Evangelization.” Drawing on CFC’s identity as a movement for renewing family life, he explained that FIG emerged as CFC’s strategic response to the New Evangelization—a call to re‑ignite faith “with new ardor, methods, and expression” echoing St. Pope John Paul II. Through FIG, CFC aims to share its “giftedness”—the renewal of family life—with the world, inviting families to be living testimonies of Christ’s love in the heart of their homes and communities.
Continuing the momentum, Sis. Rea Santos—Bro. Mike’s wife—led a session on “FIG’s Mission Scoping.” She guided participants through discovering the community’s pain points and emphasized the “why” behind FIG. With thoughtful questions like “Why do we need FIG in our area?”, she invited everyone to explore how this initiative can meet real needs and spark transformation at the local level.
Through years of experience in family formation, CFC has developed various sessions to help guide the family in facing the challenges of the world. Through FIG, CFC seeks to partner with parishes, dioceses, archdioceses, schools, and other institutions to help guide the families of today.
Bro. Arnel Sacris walked participants through how the Family Ministries integrate within CFC—explaining how the FAMIN coordinators balance pastoral care with active service, working to guide families through each stage of life. He also introduced two key bodies: the CFC International Council Family Ministries Committee and the CFC Family Ministries Team, both of which oversee, support, and coordinate ministry efforts worldwide.
Next, Bro. Arnel reintroduced each ministry and previewed their signature global gatherings:
  • CFC Kids for Christ (KFC) Family International Conference
  • CFC Youth for Christ International Conference
  • CFC Singles for Christ International Conference
  • CFC Handmaids of the Lord International Conference
  • CFC Servants of the Lord International Catholic Men’s Conference
  • CFC LiveLoud
These “womb-to-tomb” ministries—spanning every life stage—aim to support families spiritually from childhood through adulthood.
To cap it all off, Bro. Arnel announced that CFC Thailand will host the Kids for Christ Family International Conference in 2026, marking an inspiring new chapter of global outreach. The announcement was solemnly confirmed with a signing ceremony, led by Bro. Arnel (CFC FAMIN Head) and Bro. Jojoy Mission (CFC Thailand Country Head), together with the CFC Thailand Country Governance Team—officially sealing our shared commitment to uplift and empower CFC’s youngest evangelizers .

Reviving CFC Phanom, South of Thailand

Following the successful Christmas General Assembly in Panom, Surat Thani, plans were immediately set in motion to revive the CFC community at Mae Phra Ong Upatham Catholic Church. Over the years, many of the original CFC members had passed away, while most of their children had moved to Bangkok for work. Recognizing the need to plant new seeds of faith, CFC Thailand, under the guidance of Fr. John Tamayo, CFC Thailand’s Spiritual Adviser, decided to take a different approach—this time, by reaching out to the young generation.
The Catholic community in Mae Phra Ong Upatham had weakened in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many parishioners had become accustomed to staying home on Sundays, following government guidelines on social distancing. Upon his reassignment to Panom—once a key mission area for CFC among Thai communities over 30 years ago—Fr. John introduced an ingenious initiative to reinvigorate the church: he encouraged Catholic schoolchildren to bring their parents and grandparents to mass. The incentive? One star for bringing a parent, three stars for both parents, and five stars for bringing their grandparents. This simple yet powerful idea proved highly effective, as children eager to earn stars successfully brought their families back to church.
With the church now seeing renewed attendance, the next step was to reintroduce CFC into the community—bringing back its culture, charism, and spirit to strengthen the faith of local Catholics.

A New Beginning: The First Kids’ Camp
On 9 February 2025, CFC organized a mini Kids’ Camp—an initiative led by Bro. John Balgoa (CFC South Mission Area Coordinator) in collaboration with Bro. Alvin Perez (KFC National Coordinator), Bro. Arnel Flores (CFC Phuket Unit Head), and Fr. John Tamayo. The service team included Bro. Alvin from North Bangkok, YFC members from Nonthaburi, Thai-speaking YFCs, and SFC ROCK facilitators from Phuket. To ensure full participation, all camp materials were translated into Thai, making the experience comfortable and engaging for the children. The event was a resounding success, with over 30 Catholic children fully immersing themselves in the activities.

Looking Ahead
With a strong foundation now in place, the next mission is to identify a couple from among the children’s parents to serve as the local KFC coordinator. There is still much work to be done, but with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the unwavering support of the neighboring CFC units in Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Phuket, we believe that the Thai CFC community in Panom, Surat Thani, will rise again.

CFC South Thailand Christmas Assembly

On 29 December 2024, CFC mission areas in the South of Thailand—Phuket, Krabi, and Nakhon Si Thammarat—gathered for their annual Christmas General Assembly at Mae Phra Ong Upatham Catholic Church in Panom, Surat Thani. The event was graciously hosted by Fr. John Tamayo, CFC Thailand’s spiritual adviser, who was recently reassigned to the same church where he began his missionary journey nearly 50 years ago.
The assembly was attended by over 40 Filipino CFC members, including representatives from family ministries, along with about 30 local Thai parishioners. It began with the Holy Mass, following the church’s regular schedule. Initially, the local parishioners were a bit reserved as the sudden influx of Filipinos filled nearly a third of the church. However, they quickly warmed up as the mass was celebrated in both Thai and English—a milestone for the church, as it marked the first bilingual mass ever held there.
Following the mass, the celebration moved to the school’s covered court, where a festive lunch awaited everyone. At the heart of the feast was the much-anticipated Filipino lechon, which delighted both Filipinos and Thais alike. While food was being served, our SFC emcees and Thai-speaking YFC members—Filipinos fluent in Thai—welcomed everyone in both languages, setting the tone for a lively and inclusive gathering.
The event was filled with games, performances, and gift-giving, all enjoyed by young and old, Filipinos and Thais alike—another milestone for the church and its growing sense of community. To further spread the Christmas joy, our brethren from CFC Phuket prepared various gifts and giveaways, generously donated by sponsors from Phuket. Everyone left with full hearts, full hands, and full tummies. Fr. John was overjoyed with the event’s success and eagerly looks forward to more CFC activities in his church.

Courtesy visit with H.E. Bishop Stephen Boonlert Phromsena and pastoral engagement with CFC Thai leaders in Ubon Ratchathani

On 22 July 2024, Emmanuel (Jojoy) Mission, CFC Thailand Country Head together with Father Paitoon paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Bishop Stephen Boonlert Phromsena, the newly appointed Bishop of the Ubon Ratchathani Diocese. Bishop Boonlert warmly welcomed Jojoy expressing his joy and extending his kind hospitality. Although the Bishop had limited knowledge of CFC, gained primarily from the late Fr. Guillman, Jojoy briefed him on the current governance and activities of CFC Thailand. Bishop Boonlert advised Jojoy to coordinate directly with Fr. Paitoon, who oversees the Family Ministry, for any family-related activities of CFC in the diocese. The meeting concluded with Bishop Boonlert bestowing his Apostolic blessing upon Jojoy on behalf of CFC Thailand.

Jojoy's visit to Ubon Ratchathani began on 21 July 2024, when he was welcomed at the airport by Fr. Paitoon and taken to the priest's house. Fr. Paitoon recalled about his participation in the special immersion programme in Manila on 10 June 2013, organized as part of CFC's 32nd anniversary celebration.

On the same day, Jojoy held a service meeting with Fr. Paitoon, who also assisted with translation, and CFC-Ubon leaders at Our Lady of Righteousness School, located within the St. Joseph Church compound. The meeting focused on three key topics: the revival of CFC-Ubon, support for CFC-Pakse in Laos, and preparations for CFC-Thailand’s 35th anniversary. The leaders identified four geographical regions within CFC-Ubon, each with its respective overall leaders:
  1. Yasothon, Songyae region: Bro. Chartee Chaiyarak and Sis. Somvang.
  2. Amnaj Charoen, Nongkho region: Bro. Banleang Nadee and Sis. Vongduaeng.
  3. Srisaket, Nongtham region: Bro. Subin Khamban and Sis. Wanadee Khamchalee.
  4. Ubon region: Bro. Samraeng Buanpan and Sis. Kanchana with the assistance of Bro. Ravee Ardasa and Sis. Wanadee Khamchalee as the Admin.
The CFC-Ubon leaders confirmed that they hold monthly household meetings at members' homes on a rotating basis and a general prayer assembly once a year, usually on the first Saturday of February at a larger venue. In response to Jojoy's request, they committed to adding an additional prayer assembly each year for two regions (Songyae-Nongkho and Nongtham-Ubon). Their evangelization efforts are structured in two steps: (1) Family Renewal (similar to MER) with 8 talks over a "3 days 2 nights" session, and (2) the Christian Life Program (CLP) with 12 talks. They successfully conducted the first step in January 2024 with 10 couples and are planning to organize the second step soon.

CFC-Ubon plays a strategic role in supporting the expansion of CFC in Pakse, Laos. Jojoy shared photos of CFC-Pakse’s general prayer assembly held on 15 June 2024, which included members from four villages: Muang Khai Village, Nong Bok Noiy (Pasay Village), Nong Bok Noiy (Nongsataw Village), and Nonsai Village. The spiritual adviser for CFC-Pakse is Fr. Bountem (Peter), and the Mission Area Head is Dickya/Sheena Labicane. The CFC-Ubon leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting CFC-Pakse, while being mindful of the sensitive border issues between Thailand and Laos.

Before concluding the visit, Jojoy extended an invitation to Fr. Paitoon and the CFC-Ubon leaders to attend CFC-Thailand's 35th anniversary celebration, scheduled on 26-27 October 2024, at the Shrine of Seven Martyrs of Thailand in Songkhon, Mukdahan Province, with Archbishop Anthony Weradet Chaiseri. They all confirmed their participation and expressed their intention to encourage more members to join.
